What Should I do After I Network? Schedule a 1 to 1!

Listen to Episode 34 of Allergic to Small Talk on Spotify or Apple

After you’re done networking at a business networking event, the first thing you should do is immediately set up 1 to 1’s with the people you found interesting in the room.

In this episode, I’m going to walk you through 8 questions you should ask someone to do an effective 1 to 1 plus you’re going to hear me do a real 1 to 1 with Johanna Hooper. Johanna is the CEO of Limited Peak Performance. I won’t give a full background on Johanna because that’s what our 1 to 1 will uncover.

The goal of a 1 to 1 is to give you the opportunity to get to know the person better and understand how you can help them reach their goals.

In return, the other person is getting to know you and your business goals as well. Your job is to educate them, you should educate them like they’re your mini sales person!

I would avoid trying to sell to the person that you’re meeting with and instead focus on building a relationship with them first.

I hope this episode inspires you to book in a 1 to 1 with someone you find interesting at your next event and if you need a list of questions to ask, you can find my questions in the podcast description.
